Description Apophysis 2.05z+

I think I'm in a fractal funk!! I've been looking at so many wonderful new Apo. images lately and I can't seem to get anything that really makes me happy.

This really needs a full view please.

Dear
I know what your problem is . Your problem is, there's too many people using Apo so you are bound to feel inferior looking at one great image after another , and no-one notices your art anymore among the flood . Stop trying and move on to a less-popular program, like XenoDream, make your mark there, and receive once again the adulation and self esteem to which you have become accustomed. And not be reduced to posting hotrod photographs. On the other hand you might just have hit one of those creative constipations and need to wait it out, and before you know it, , or even . Whatever you decide, .

I enjoyed the hotrod photos. I found a lot of people did. I go to these events on occasion and this is the first time I had a digital camera. I've been using a 35mm film camera for years. "What a Beauty" got several features which pleased me but to be honest with you that's not what I'm trying to do. I just feel like I'm in a rut with Apo. Everything seems so similar to what I've been doing and I need to do some learning and keep at it. At the same time as I said before I'm thinking about opening up Xeno again. One thing about that program is it can take me many hours of modeling to get what I want and also with Xeno I need an idea of what I want to do before I start working in it.
As for all your emotes.......... that had to have taken some time!!

Hope you had a great Fathers Day!!

Ah Philip, I was just pulling your leg about the hotrods, I enjoyed your enjoyment of them and they are lovingly crafted pieces of machine art. I have been feeling in a rut with ChaoScope too, waiting for the big new extended version but that may be a while, and the inspiration is not flowing anymore, just the occasional spurt. And I love that feeling of the creative process, when I've found a shape that speaks to me, finding the shading and colouring that belong to it, creating a setting for it, making the best image I can, posting it with pride and checking in each day for the commments and replies, it's very satisfying. And I can't get no, tada-daa, satisfaction. So I have decided I need a new program and have decided to go for XenoDream as I have always been partial to 3D fractals and have been blown away at some of the images I have seen from that program. But I have always been scared off by the big learning curve. Now I will sit down and learn this sucker, having forked out the big bucks.
I have to say that I have been stunned at the images from Apophysis I have seen also, played around with it a bit but came up with nothing, clearly this program also needs some focused studying before you start coming up with good stuff. What put me off is what I said in my initial post; also I personally enjoy creating settings in Photoshop for my fractals, XenoDream would be perfect for that, I in fact feel that many of the XenoDream images I see have too much of the gosh-wow three-dimensional model coldness, not enough personal touch and fantasy, I hope to make some great stuff. And I can see that it is a program with so much possibility and depth that I won't quickly get to the end of it. So, got the Xeno 2.0 for my bithday, and am working my way through the manual. I used your 'Wound Up' to make a nice big icon for the program, I'll send that to you if you want, love that image.
I will enjoy it if you get back into Xeno, we can have a mutual admiration society!

I think it's partially just a block on my work in Apo. but it's funny you mentioned Xenodream because I was thinking about dusting it off and using it again. Thanks for the input.

I know the feeling - I've had some slumpy periods in the past, but I'm full of energy for Apo at the moment. Let me know if you can't find the breakthrough with the 'integrated circuitry' style, and I can send you a seed parameter. Then there's the 'oily' that I've linked to somewhere - plenty of mileage with that yet...
