I tried using that sketchy inking style from before, and it kinda worked out, but then it went downhill when I started coloring and shading.I'm probably not putting enough energy into it.

Frankly, I like the sketchy inking style. Maybe it fits particularly good here because I subconsciously am inferring motion on the sketchiest parts as she flaps her wings and hovers.

I don't know, but I was thinking about something later on in time. I made her a little bit older, maybe it doesn't show so clearly

Yeah, especially the age between say, mane6 and Luna - her physical ago, not her actual 1000+ years.

I always thought Luna and Celestia were a different kind of pony altogether. Their body looks so different, I just can't compare them to the Mane6. I mean, they all look a lot alike, I mean looking at the body not the face and hair and stuff. If there were more body types (although they have Snips and Snails and Mrs Cake), I could think of Clestia and Luna as more 'mature', I guess.

Mmm, Luna and celestia's faceshapes are halfway between a mane6 and a stallions's face, which to me is a logical sign of aging.
But, I haven't thought of this before, Mayor Mare should also have those features then.
Or maybe pony bodies(or rather skelletal forms) develop reeeeeeaaaally slowly, so they need thousands of years into order to become adults

I like this one more than "compensational hugs" the coloring is a lot more in style than that one
Only one minor nitpick, the hind leg (her right one) personally, I'm not a fan of the outine covering the front leg. Though some people probably like that.

When I made this, I already saw it as a failure, so I didn't bother with fixing that see-through hind leg, but now as I'm liking it more and more, I do agree that it needs to be fixed
Thanks! I came up with the blending style by pure chance when I just blotched in the colors after scrapping the first attempt of "fancy" coloring... but I'm not entirely sure of how I did it... >.>

Gah, I hate it when I make a cool mistake and I don't know how to redo it. Usually in music. I'm a very mediocre visual artist. I usually just do it to relieve stress from playing music for hours on end.
Best of luck to finding the mistake in order to repeat it and make intentional.Β
Also, I remembered what it reminded me of. I got an Okami vibe from it. with the line work especially.

I think I know the "basics" of the blending style, so I'm gonna make an attempt later to see if I figure it out again.
