Oh my goodness, I got inspiration for this drawing a few days ago, and just had to draw it, but it didn't exactly turn out as planned. :'D I hope I didn't make all of your beautiful, precious babies look too awful, and I also apologize for messing up any markings. XD

I imagine that all of the foals are in their own little group as their parents fight in the war, and Leif sees that everyone is really worried, so he tries to cheer them up. ^-^

Story:

Leif watched his father trot away as the paint stallion went in search of herbs. Ryder had looked worried, and his mane was tangled with lack of care though Leif hadn't really noticed. In front of him was a small group of foals. The dreary, grey sky seemed to be casting its grey tones on the horses around him. Their faces were set with deep frowns of worry as he bounded up to them. "Why the long faces?" He asked, tilting his head at a spotted filly. His blue eyes wandered over the group. Everyone looked absolutely depressed about one thing or another. Leif frowned in thought, screwing up his face as he tried to come up with a solution.

"Are you guys worried about what all of the adults are doing?" He asked, looking over at the two foals that he actually knew. The grey colt gave them a cheery smile, wagging his short tail. "You guys don't have to worry y'know. If your parents are anything like mine, they're really strong and brave. They'll make it through this I know it," he said, nodding his head as he spoke. A small part of him nagged that he should be worried too. His parents certainly were, so why shouldn't he? Leif shook his head, clearing out the negativity as dark grey clouds swept over the fields. The grass around them blew in the wind, and Leif's messy mane rustled around his neck. "We don't have anything to worry about. Our parents will be safe."
