Leonardo was practicing his sword technique but, he was having a little trouble with focusing because his mind was elsewhere. There was a swords of Japan exhibit at the history museum for the next four days and today was the last day. Leonardo really wanted to go but problem was that the tickets for the exhibit itself were expensive. This was a pretty rare event, these sword were temporarily spent over from Tokyo National Museum in Japan. Leonardo sighed as he swung down his katana blades. Moments later, the elevator door opened revealing you standing there. You stepped out and made your way toward Leonardo.  Leonardo placed his swords back into their sheaths, looked in your direction, and smiled.

You and Leonardo have been together for about six months and you two couldn't be happier. Of course you two had your typical ups and downs but you two somehow managed to work things out. Little did he know that today you had a special surprise for him.

"Morning Leo," you greeted with a hug.

"Morning ______, how are you?" Leonardo asked while returning the hug.

"I'm good but, you know that sword exhibit you've been going on about?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Well...," you said as you pulled out two tickets out of your pocket.

Leonardo's eyes widened in surprise, "Are those...?"

"Yes."

"But how did you get them?"

"Well long story short, some friends of my parents couldn't go and they gave me their extra tickets."

"This is great, what time should we go?"

"How about I'll meet you back here at about 3:30pm then we'll be there by 4:00pm, will that work?"

"That'll be perfect," Leonardo replied.

It was going to be a bit cold in the late afternoon so that gave you both a good reason to bundle up. You wore your (fav. color) coat, blue jeans, and some decent walking shoes. Leonardo wore his heavy dark green jacket, gray oversized shirt, gray sweatpants, blue hat, and his deep red three fingered gloves. He left his mask at the lair for the time being. As soon as 3:30pm rolled around you came back to the lair to pick up your boyfriend. Then you two headed up to the surface and made your way to the museum. You both arrived at about five minutes to four and headed up toward the entrance.

You two turned in your tickets and proceeded inside the building. Leonardo picked up a few brochures about the exhibit and put them in his coat pocket. When you two entered the area where the exhibit was being held, Leonardo's eyes widened in awe. There were several display cases, artwork, and a few charts on about the swords structure. He couldn't decide where to start, he looked like a kid in a toy store and wanted to look at everything. Then he went to the first glass display case and began to read the template placed in front of the case. You smiled and walked over to join him.

Inside was a long, curved, shining blade with a black handle and a gold. You were amazed at the condition it was in, the blade itself looked like it hadn't aged a day not to mention you couldn't see a scratch on it.

"Ok, this one's a...I know it's not a katana," you said as you observed the blade.

"This is a tachi sword," Leonardo said.

"How can you tell?"

"Well, you see a tachi sword is basically a long sword with a deeper curve and they were more meant for warriors on horseback because they were too heavy to carry around on foot. The katana however is descended from the tachi sword with a single edge and a longer grip. Plus they're more compact and easier in close combat."

You nodded, "Oh ok, I get it."

You two eventually went on to the next display. It was another Japanese sword but it had a different design on the sheave and handle. Leonardo was already reading the template while you were busy gazing at the piece of weaponry.

"Can you believe this sword actually belonged to the 108th emperor of Japan?" Leonardo asked.

"Really?" You read the template, "Wow."

The two of you went on to the other displays and the blue branded turtle made sure to read the templates at each one. There was even a large display poster set along the wall that showed different type and styles of swords.

"By the way, did you know Japanese swords went as far back as the Jokoto period to today?" Leonardo asked.

You giggled, "I do now."

You didn't mind when Leonardo went on like that, you actually enjoyed the way he talked not to mention the sound of his voice was really pleasant. You continued to listen to Leonardo's history lesson as you two went on through the exhibit. Plus, you couldn't help but gaze at Leonardo's face, it was pretty rare that you get to see him without his mask on.  It didn't take long for Leonardo to catch you staring.

"What?" Leonardo asked.

You blushed slightly, "Nothing, it's just that I don't usually see you without your mask on."

Leonardo scratched the back of his head, "Yeah, I know. I look weird don't I?"

"No, actually you look, well handsome."

Leonardo blushed, "Thanks."

Then a voice came over through the intercom, "Attention, he museum will be closing in ten minutes."

"I think we'd better get going," you said.

"Yeah," Leonardo agreed.

Sometime before the museum closed, you and Leonardo walked out of the building holding each others hands. It was still early in the evening so you two decided to take a walk around Central Park. Then you and Leonardo took a seat at a nearby bench to relax for a while. There weren't too many of people around at this time so it gave you two a little privacy for now. A few minutes later, Leonardo lowered the scarf that was covering his face.

"______," Leonardo whispered.

"Yeah?"

Leonardo scooted closer to you and brought a hand up to your chin. He tilted your chin up and brought his lips to yours. You placed your hands on his shoulders and kissed him back. Leonardo moved both hands to your back to bring you closer, with that you wrapped your arms around his neck and deepened the kiss a bit more. You felt Leonardo's tongue gently brush against your bottom lip asking for an entrance. You open your mouth to allow his tongue to explore your cavern until your tongue nudged against his. Both your tongues wrestled for dominance for about a minute but Leonardo won that match. Then the need for air overwhelmed you two and you both parted panting.

"I love you," Leonardo whispered.

"I love you too," you whispered back.

It was the first time you two have said those three words to each other. You couldn't help but smile and pull him into a hug, Leonardo returned the hug and held you close. The two of you continued to sit snuggled against each other as the sun slowly started to go down. You and Leonardo stayed at the park a bit longer until you two decided to head back to the lair while walking hand in hand.
