Happy (belated) two-thousand-somethingth birthday to my favorite scumbag, Ardyn Izunia According to the devs, he's born on April 30, and he likes drinking chess and playing wine (weirdly enough, the latter didn't even come as a surprise to me). Truly a man of refined tastes~

While I did some close-up portraits of him, I've never tackled the rest of his ridiculous outfit before, so his B-day was the perfect occasion to give it a try. Well, not the whole thing though, since I removed his coat to convey a less formal, more relaxed feel. The overall artwork was done with some masters' paintings in mind in terms of brushwork and overall atmosphere.

The "Genesis" picture on the wall was entirely repainted on a separate canvas (see the study below), since I felt that slapping a mere screenshot onto the frame would've been cheating. I added it for the giggles: I like to imagine Ardyn keeping a copy of this legendary painting at home so he could use it as a target when playing darts. 50 points for reaching Eos or the Astrals, 100 points for nailing the Founder King

To my watchers: yes, I fell off the DeviantArt train The reason is I've been busy lately, and too tired in the evening to do art or browse DA. But even though I can't be as active and involved as I'd like, I'm still there
