outstanding! I really really like the soft lighting and the contrast of the blue in the eyes towards the reddish ground. Excellent work!

I, the owner of this cat, have returned on my main account a few months later to say I still love this piece It's so beautifully drawn and I'm still very happy you chose this emperor of a cat for your subject.

Aww, that's such a nice attention! Thank you! I must say Kahlua looked beautiful and regal in his photos (by the way, if you have more pics of him and feel like sharing them here, please go ahead!
We're March 27 and I'd be curious to see more of this fluffball, exactly one year after I posted this study.)

A whole year? Wow, it feels like it was yesterday to me. Unfortunately, he's crossed over the Rainbow Bridge with my old dogs (he and his adopted brother were the first cats I ever owned, and we've still got the other one), but I do have a bunch of photos of them saved in my stash. I'm glad someone else could enjoy his regal-ity We always called him "Emperor Kahlua" because he would sit and cross his legs on top of the dog kennels and wait for us to come play with him. He was such a very good cat; if I ever own more cats, I'll definitely get another ragdoll.
Your art definitely did him justice Here's all the photos I could find of him:

Ah, I'm sorry to hear he's passed RIP, little Emperor Ragdolls are known to be cuddly and mostly non-aggressive, so they're a good choice for anyone anyway.
Many thanks for the photos you provided; I enjoyed seeing them, and your other cat ("Chinook"?) is very precious

Hopefully he's having a good time up in cat heaven <3
And his name is Chinook; he's probably the softest (and fattest) cat nugget in the entire universe. Nothing he loves more than a belly rub in his favorite wooden chair. I'm glad you enjoyed them

Hi! I just read your journal and can't believe how someone can decline this cat. So much work on this! I would die drawing all that fur! And it's lovely.
F snobs from that snobbish groups. Probably they forget how small is the percentage of people capable of doing something like this.
Hugs and keep doing art!

This piece!
I just love the way it looks like you drew each and every hair, and added delicate, beautiful lighting to it!! Stunning, as always!!

There's a delicate balance between too much detail and too little; this piece is well balanced and showcases what must be a very cute kitty.

I honestly think this is one of the better pieces in your gallery. The composition may be slightly off, but the details & textures in the fur make it almost seem like an oil painting. I think it's a lovely piece, and you shouldn't get discouraged on your journey to find a different/more detailed style. You should draw/paint what you like to paint, and I think this piece & this detailed style both look great ^^

This is a beautiful piece of art, I hope to one day be able to have such an eye for detail as you do- the lighting is superb; i love the mix of warm backlight and cold colours on the fur and the wooden flooring. The detail in the fur is astounding , it's such a pleasure to look at- particularly on the back of the head and inside the ears - the eyes as well are very beautiful, such lovely colours.
The sloping of the perspective is hardly noticable, and i think that it would only be seen if one was purposely looking for a problem- please do not be discouraged from realism. If you enjoy creating art like this then that alone is the only justification you need. I've done my fair share of pet portraits in pencil, and i loved the tiny details, the tinier the better! In fact seeing such a beautiful work makes me want to try something like that again, this work is truly inspirational!
I could really stare at this forever!

The different colors in the lighting really do add to the details of this piece (can't stop gushing over it) XD

Do you own the cat or does she belong to a friend of yours? I think I've told you before that I really like cats!

Neither of these options! I asked my watchers to show me their furry pets in a journal I posted a couple of weeks ago, so I could pick some to make studies of them. The cat belongs to one of those who participated

Fair enough. I have no cats but I do have my parents do own a couple of dogs. Could you maybe draw one of them if I send you a reference pic?

Oh... I'm so sorry, I don't take requests :/ And the reason why I posted two portraits of animals that belonged to other people was because I asked my watchers to post photos of their pets in this journal , so I could pick the best models as a study reference.

OK gotcha. Next time you post a journal like that, I'll be sure to see what I can give you for a reference.
