The ironic thing about what Helen said is that it directly contradicts the old Victorian Era anti-women's suffrage epithet that women were too emotional and thus couldn't be trusted to have rational control over their actions to do something like voting.
Yagi showing the male warriors unable to control their sexual passions (but not the girls) is a classic example of Victorian-era thinking. Guys were supposed to be interested in sex, and women weren't. In fact, if women were interested in sex, doctors often diagnosed them as "hysterical". So basically "rational" guys were able to control their emotions except for their sex drive, while "irrational" women couldn't control their emotions but somehow could control their sex drive. It doesn't take a genius to see their way of thinking didn't exactly add up.
This annoying contradiction both in that era and Yagi's thinking on male sexuality is why I've added male warriors who don't prematurely awaken in my fanfic. It helps end the contradiction and improves the depth of the story by allowing more traditional romance.
I doubt you'd mind some handsome male additions to the silver-eyed cast, am I right?

Sorry to anwsered you too late, but IΒ΄ve been too busy and I wanted to process this interesting argument about women and men thinking at Victorian Era. I think that one reason about this kind of behave in both genres is the society from that times, which was too severe with women, who started using "floriography" or language of flowers with the aim of express emotions with implicit messages, incluiding sexual displays xD
