It's a toad. I'm nearly positive. Frogs are aquatic and rarely stray far from water. Toads live mostly on land. I think it's the same thing between turtles and tortoises.

Well the thing was, this was about twenty feet from a lake. I later found out this was an American Toad.

I don't know about the difference between frogs and toads, aren't toads
abit larger than frogs? or not as green as a frog?
