Great animation, well deserving of a DD, BUT I don't like the background image, it detracts from what is really important: the animation. This animation would look much more dramatic on a plain black background !

Even on a fast system with fireFox and adblock it seems to be kind of shocking.
Not sure but I think it is in between 12 and 15 fps.
Rendering twice as much frames allows you to double the fps-rate and gives you a smooth animation
that has the same length in time and same rotation speed.
