I know it's a bit late for this, but there is a reason why I'm uploading my icon.I would like to emphasize that I created this icon myself, and that it was made specifically for the purpose of being used as my profile picture.

Plus you don't even have your signature on this icon. So I basically could claim it as mine, and without a signature you can't even claim this as yours! Icons are meant to be used not kept or hidden, anyone could claim this even if it's your O.c NO SIGHNATURE

I'm not sure if you've tried to draw something in a 50x50 square before, but a signature in something this small will look either unrecognizable or out of place.
Just so you know, you do not need to have your signature on a deviation in order to say it is yours. When you uploading something on Deviantart, it is automatically copyrighted by the year it is uploaded, in case you never noticed that.
Also for the record, icons are not meant to only be used, and even if they were, it doesn't mean anyone can use the icon without violating the rules of art theft.

Art theft is a real crime, it's not something you can just laugh off.
Why don't you go do a little research on what copyright is and how you obtain it before you start trying to give false leads.

Art theft is definitely wrong. Stealing others' hard work and getting all the merits to him/herself by claiming it's theirs is not cool at all. I think she's just jealous (or maybe loves) your work and started using, but she should at least try to get permission or something.
