What's ridiculous is insisting that race is just color (as you imply), ignoring that it's also politics, psychology, heritage, identity (a racist will almost invariably be portrayed as a Caucasian, for example, and if that's not racist, I'm a bunny), and a giant minefield of taboos that stymies and sets precedents against free speech.

A friend of mine worked in the library once. Someone took an ink eraser and carefully tried to erase every single word from a book once. I'll leave the decision up to you whether it was racism, and OCD impulse or very creative vandalism.

I understand it. I just used to hate when people would use metaphors like that. Or maybe its cause modern day librarians should be more educated than that. Or maybeeee, if it was like a peace of paper crossing the street from black letters.
