From an early age, Harriet’s family knew she was going to be an entomologist. She would go around collecting every insect she would see around the house. They would be her new pets. While the practiced waned some in her teenage years, by the time she went to college she was back to collecting. This time she would take long hikes to perform these hunts.

She met Georgia on one of these excursions. The two fast friends would hike weekend after weekend. Given Georgia had a VW Beetle, folks would joke that this was the reason they truly became friends.

Turns out they weren’t fully wrong. When graduation approached and the looming challenge of a remote friendship appeared on the horizon, Harriet decided to put one more beetle into a jar for safekeeping.
