Heath was in a rush, he needed something for his niece’s party that he was already late for. She loved goth stuff, so he bravely faced the gift store in the mall. Sensing a fish out of water, Lauren approached and walked him through what his niece may like. She was pleasant and sweet - a real doll.

As they talked, he learned of some of the struggles she was facing - abusive boyfriend, rough job, not enough money to make ends meet. She confided in Heath that she often wished for someone to scoop her up and take her away to a carefree life.

After ringing up the purchases, Heath turned to leave. At the door he swiveled on his heals. Turning to Lauren, he asked if anyone told her she was a real doll. She chuckled and blushed so much it was visible under the pan makeup on her face. He continued by telling her that he was going to scoop her up and take her away. With a flash the goth woman was the size of a toy and frozen in form. It would take a few hours for the temporary stiffness to wear off. Heath scooped up the woman and tucked her into his jacket before rushing off.
