Emma grunted as she pushed up. She was so upset and embarrassed to be pinned down by a simple pencil, a number 2 Ticonderoga to be precise. Her mind went back to the myriad of tests she took throughout her schooling with these pencils and her stomach turned.Though she left behind schooling a while back, she insisted on helping a younger cousin, Adele, with her own college studies. After several hours Adele suggested they take a break.
Emma was having none of it, but accepted a drink from Adele. Soon her head swam and she passed out. When she awoke she was surprised to find herself laying on Adele’s notebook.
“What are you doing?” Emma yelled at Adele.
“Being resourceful. It’s clear I won’t get this material in my head, so I am going to do the next best thing and keep a mouse in my pocket.”
“No you can’t do this!”
Adele wrapped a hand around Emma and easily lifted her from the desk. With a free finger she tickled her belly. “Oh I believe I already have.”
