I was really happy and excited when the crew from GAINAX stopped by my booth at the San Diego Comic Con!I was so geeked out that I wasn't really paying attention to a potential Producer who stopped by at the same time. My buddy Howard Shum had to tell the producer that I was a big time fan of Gainax and explained to him that Gainax is a famous Japanese animation studio, creators of FLCL, Gurren Lagann, Evangelion...
I probably missed an opportunity, I hope that the producer understood, but hey this is Gainax. And you gotta show proper respect to one of the greatest animation studios on the planet!

I wouldn't say perfect. It is amazing though...
FLCL is my favorite. I'd say that is closer to perfection! Go see that, it's on Netflix right now!

I'm always kind of pleased whenever I see artists & animators I appreciate praise FLCL to such an extent, considering it's probably my favorite piece of animation ever and defined my taste in cartoons to pretty much the same extent that Looney Tunes originally did. >:
I mean, episode 5 had some of my favorite art & animation long before I even knew who Hiroyuki Imaishi was.

I appreciate anime and Looney Tunes as well. My taste isn't limited to just Disney and Pixar, there is much to learn from different styles and much to admire from them as well!
