Is it me, or do I see Godzilla (1998) In the background with a cap, glasses, and a camera?

That makes sense, in this topsy turvy world.

Wait, you were the one who did those Mimi's menus?

These ones here, three I haven't uploaded yet, and one I have no media access to. The initial Mimi's Cafe menu's were done by the Coca Cola company, then by JMP Creative by illustrator Steve Martin; I took over from him illustrating them until Coca Cola offered a price that Mimi's Cafe couldn't refuse: free.

The congestion, the craziness ans yet puzzlingly enough, the harmony over this explosion of activity is really great!

...And 99.5 of the time is on the fly. I gotta visualize everything in 3D, while placing everything and everybody in the proper places, while adding everything they need, balance it, put humor and gags, while "it was due yesterday" and "uh, can you add one more thing?."
Fun!

This is wonderful (your drawing and inks are fantastic as well). So this is your full time occupation?

For the moment, yes. It can be frustrating when you have to balance art quality over project deadlines or budget. Most of these menus came at a loss, which was made up for by future client contacts.

I'm sorry to hear that. I know what you mean. I'm currently employed as a graphic designer in a print shop and with the amount of traffic (clients) that come in to see me every day I barely have time for anything decent to design. Just quick, generic stuff mostly. Only now and then I will REALLY be challenged. Strangely enough I wanted to go into character design/children's book illustration, but alas...

You sure that's a C-5?
I thought it was a C-17 myself.

I looked it up; think you might be right... C-17, not C-5. All those big cargo lifters look alike to me.
