Description There is two versions of this image; one to send to Warner Feature Animation so their version of Lola matched WBCP and vice versa (long story).

The second version (which actually was sent first to WBCP Brand Assurance) was a a joke on a friend on that department, which makes sure any images that are sent interdepartmentally are up to speck,... unfortunately for both of us, it was sent to WBFA without being checked. We got our ears chewed off royally, had a good laugh about, and I owned my friend and his department a lifetime supply of two dozen donuts every week (good times0. ^.^

Wait, so this was just a joke and never meant to be seen?
I assumed they censored it down for this poster:Β i.pinimg.com/originals/16/a3/c…

I thought you guys were told by WB to make her less sexualized or something, yes?

Correct.

Correct again, although that "poster" is just random pictures from the
Space Jam styleguide all jumbled together, not an oficial WBCP released
one.

We were told, we complied... most of the time *cough*

So, who exactly created Lola?

BobGuthrie In reply to zam3d [2014-04-30 14:25:19 +0000 UTC]

Officially, nobody. Short and to the point, Warner Bros. Feature Animation was suppose to design and develop all characters on the SpaceJam feature. Warner Bros. Consumer Products main job is too receive said designs and make style guides so companies can make products using this guides as reference.

Problem: For whatever reasons (oh, there was several reasons all right), WBCP needs a minimum of one year to receive these designs to complete the guides so commercial products can be design, approved and manufacture. But with six months to go to the fill release, final designs for most characters were not complete, and the movie was way behind schedule (they had to hire animation studios worldwide, and canibalize most of the "Quest for Camelot" crew).

Don Romanelli, CEO of WBCP, approachedΒ Producer Ivan Reitman to clear this claustrof... bottle neck. This resulted in WBCP designing characters based on some of the loose concepts that WBFA had on the pipeline. Frank Espinoza and San Wei Chan worked on the Monstars, while I worked on the Lola designs, which then they were sent to WBFA so both departments designs watched. Needles to say, it was a mess that took one month to clear up when Romanelli reamed WBFA management for stalling the release of their final compatible designs.

As far as I know there were 5 people working on the Lola design at WBFA, vs one at WBCP, and even when the a design was agreed upon and the style guides published, Feature Animation slip several final changes that all though obvious, not enough to kill the merchandise look.

So, did anybody created Lola?. No it was a "joint collaboration" between WBFA and WBCP,... kinda. (Link to the first incarnation we received from WBFA of the character of Lola Rabbit. Notes by a very pissed WBCP management: rabbette.deviantart.com/art/ea… .
