To be honest I was just too lazy to find a proper ref for fire so it ended up like that, hehe /u\
I didn't really like delphox at first because braixen looks much cuter and witch-y, but give me long enough and have me draw them and pretty much any* PokΓ©mon will grow on me!
*This has so far not happened for conkeldurr and amoonguss, what is up with that

But yeah, for a while I bemoaned the loss of my Braixen after evolving it. It eventually proved itself in battle and Amie, so I still like it. ;w;" β₯
Conkledurr and Amoongus, however... typically require very large and accepting hearts for them to grow on people.

Hehe x3 Fennekin was my fave starter, but then all the starters sort of took unexpected turns in their evolutions! I ended up picking froakie because I knew I'd get a free fennekin later if I did that (turns out one called "Kinniekins"), but when I went to evolve the starters I had I actually ended up liking chesnaught the most (even though its final stage seems completely unrelated to the two previous forms, what even)!
Mystery Dungeon gurdurr was actually kinda cute so even gurdurr kinda grew on me because of that, hehe. Its evolution though... I think Nintendo just has a really weird image of construction workers or something /u\

Hahaha, I got someone's Kinniekins off the GTS. xD I actually ended up liking Greninja the most and Delphox the least, even though I liked Fennekin best and Froakie least. Chesnaught really seems like there was supposed to be another evolution in between though it's pretty cool regardless.
Oh Arceus, PMD Gurdurr was one of my favorite characters from that game. β₯ But yeah, Conkledurr is just... odd and vaguely repulsive. xD;;;;

It's kinda odd how their evolutions were all kinda surprising! I don't really remember having that so much in gen3 and gen4, like obviously we didn't know yet what new PokΓ©mon there were then, but when they evolved it did all seem like they made perfect sense. Chesnaught, despite being pretty cool, is kind of like a magical girl design where they just went wild with really cool, good-looking stuff without actually basing it on its previous form, if that makes sense /u\

Hahaha! That actually makes great sense and is a lovely simile.
The only such anime example I can think of atm is Ayumu (a guy) from Kore wa Zombie Desuka?/Is This a Zombie? who basically ends up becoming a magical "girl." It's so unexpected and hilarious.

omG I think I need to watch that /u\ That sounds just about as silly as Hataraku Maou-sama!, which is an anime about a demon lord working at knock-off McDonalds. There was hardly any plot and the characters were really bad, but it was funny enough to make up for all of that xD

Korezom has a plot, but they often get distracted with "everyday" life. Ayumu's a zombie, and he ends up living in a bit of an odd harem with the mute necromancer that reanimated him, the violent magical girl whose powers he accidentally absorbed, and a vampire-ninja diva. It's hilarious and utterly silly at times, but so far as I know it isn't too well known.
