Description
Commissioned by emperoraku on deviantart.A 6 armed alien warrior wearing armour reminiscent of the ancient samurai.
Completed a while ago, but haven't gotten around to posting it. So here it is now!

Looks pretty cool. I take it that unlike most aliens in science fiction, these aren't the usual space fairing species? Probably more medieval.
I like the Samurai aesthetic with the armour and weapon designs, although I do wonder where did his/her cuirass go? Everything else is properly protected. There is a helmet, pauldrons, gauntlets, faulds, and greaves, but nothing to protect the torso. This is such a glaring and easily exploitable weakness.

She is champion of her people the best I can compare her to is a Khorne berserker in terms of overall skill, however faster than anything and Eldar on its best day can dream of in terms of speed, its just a blur of blades to most. As to why I requested her bare she is a show off no other reason, and to confuse other races namely humans - the story around her race is very complex

I can't really say much of the background for this piece. It was commissioned by someone and I used reference images to come up with a design for the armour.
I believe one of the requirements is that the chest be bare.
But we can speculate of course. Perhaps the armour isn't there for protection so much as it is a ceremonial piece. Or perhaps the culture of these aliens is to fight with 'an honest heart' and thus avoids chest armour. Or perhaps the armour's appearance belies it's actual function? (shield generators hidden somewhere)
I'm spit-balling of course but at the end of the day idle speculation of fiction is a fun thing.
Or, you know, I am an "incompetent" designer.
