This is a very good piece of art, conveying humor and sincerity just like the show. The tinted, brownish, vintage coloring is an added plus. I agree with a certain Daily Deviation - this takes a stylistic turn that is not the bright, gaudy, and, well, "demented" Technicolor style of the show (with its bright aqua blues, neon yellows, warm browns, and cold greys). In many respects this is one of the best pieces of "SpongeBob SqaurePants" fan art I have ever seen on DeviantArt and possibly the Internet. However, I do have a little critique - say, rather, constructive criticism...
I have no dirt on SpongeBob. The illustration THERE is spot-on. You have the stylistic approach on. The expression is so much like the show that you could be an animator for it. Β The eyes are dreamy and expressive. The colors are solid. The lighting is very well done. In other words, it shows detail and effort.
The jellyfish are good. The detail is fair, the effort is good. I presume you wanted the center piece to be SpongeBob himself. The amoebas are not incredibly well done. But all this is excusable. Just for the SpongeBob this is an amazing piece of art.
