Barbie Wire Buckzo is the main antagonist of the Season 2 episode "Unhappy Campers" in Helluva Boss, a spinoff series that is set in the same universe as Hazbin Hotel. She is the estranged twin sister of Blitzo Buckzo and the daughter of Cash Buckzo. Just like her brother, she used to be a circus performer and is a former co-worker of Fizzarolli and the adoptive aunt of Loona.

She is voiced by Jinhee Joung.

Biography

Backstory

Barbie’s relationship with her brother became estranged after a fire accident that destroyed the circus and presumably killed their mother. Resentfully, she disowned her brother and abandoned to re-start her life her own way. She soon became a member of N.E.E.T and worked as a pharmacist until she dropped out for unknown reasons. She went to work as a camp counselor and stole drugs in secret.

Helluva Boss

In the middle of the episode "Unhappy Campers", Blitzo came across a dealer while looking for his sister and forced him with his flintlock until the dealer gave him what he wanted: an Asmodean Crystal with access to the real world. He opens the door, and Blitzo enters the human world, inadvertently entering Camp Ivannakummore.

Blitzo eventually finds Moxxie (who is in his costume under the identity of Moxxine) and the two come to a cabin within the Camp and kicked down the door to get in. Blitzo finds Barbie Wire in her human disguise, much to his amazement. Barbie was astounded and surprised to see Blitzo made it into the cabin as well. Moxxie was perplexed and questioned Blitzo if he knew her, to which he affirmed that Barbie was his sister.

As Millie (who is in a costume like Moxxie under the identity of Millerd Realboy) begins her performance, Blitzo and Barbie argue, and Moxxie informs Blitzo, much to his pleasure, that the camp counselor (named Counselor Jimmy) was the intended target. Moxxie tries to explain that the camp counselor was the target since he killed a client and the client wants him dead as a result, much to her dismay before the camp counselor admitted that the client discovered the drugs. Barbie then dismisses him and informs Blitzo that she would not allow them to murder her drug supplier. Barbie says that she has eventually got a job and a chance to get down from Blitzo.

She revealed that she enticed the camp counselor to help deal with medicines. However, Moxxie finally has had enough of the drama after spending a week on the charge and declares that he's going to finish the job one way or another. Barbie gets angry and attacks Moxxie, Blitzo ends up getting in the brawl, and while all three of them are fighting while Millie does her performance on stage.

Ultimately, one of the fireworks backfires and flies towards the cabin, breaking a window and flying in front of the camp counselor, blowing him up. Barbie was rankled that not only was her dealer killed, but she was out of a job. She admonished Blitzo for ruining her life again and tells him off before using an Asmodean Crystal to open a portal to return back to Hell to the Sloth Ring.

Personality

Barbie is a self-absorbed, short-tempered, and controlling narcissist who even acts rude to people, even towards her own drug supplier Counselor Jimmy. She is also manipulative, extremely conceited, and demanding, which can cause her to be outwitted when things don't go the way she wants them to.

She is shrewd and thinks poorly of humans since she sees them as she can easily manipulate them with her alluring feminine charms to get them to do what she wants.

She expresses in "Unhappy Campers" about how much she despises her own brother Blitzo and wants nothing to do with him. The reason why she acts this way is currently unknown, as of now. She appears to blame Blitzo for her current situation, claiming that he’s "f—cked up her life enough already", implying that Blitzo is at least partly responsible or that she just blames him entirely.

During the episode "Oops" it's revealed that Blitzo accidentally caused a fire that destroyed Fizz's limbs and killed their mother, which is why Barbie hates her brother now but currently unaware that he didn't cause it on purpose.

She is revealed to be on heroin as of Unhappy Campers, though unlike with humans where it is extremely addictive and harmful, the drug appears to be harmless towards imps, with Blitzo claiming that it “barely gets rid of a headache.”
Despite her hatred towards her brother, Barbie called him by his name correctly and even made the "o" in his name silent. Considering those who also hold contempt towards Blitzo usually address him with the "o" as means of pissing him off, this could imply that Barbie still cares for him or still holds some respect towards him.

Kanya is noticeably much more malevolent, stubborn, and also incredibly insane as shown when she cackles psychotically and when her mouth pulls up into a sharp grin similar to a Chain Chomp. She is also shown to be free willed despite being a created being and being a subordinate to someone else, even her own creator, brings out her hot-tempered side and will blow her top just by hearing Cursa's being mentioned within her hearing range. She instead seeks to be her own ruler and her fleeing to Melodic Gardens to build her machines has her planning to use them to usurp Cursa's place for herself, which made her more megalomaniacal.

Kanya is not easily intimidated by her first defeat at the hands of the heroes as she was using the Proto Mecha King Bob-omb for field testing and is impressed by how it was destroyed though it was because she didn't expect it to beat the heroes and recognized the machine for what she intended it for. She is also immensely sadistic, which is shown when she imprisoned a Dorrie and taunts Allegra about the missing creature, knowing of their friendship, which gave her the prompt to leave the heroes to check up on it. She isn't above being a Spark Hunter, but rather than bringing Sparks to Cursa, she instead intends to use them as power sources for her machinery against their wills, with Cryodash being one of the known victims.
History

Kanya was created by Cursa to be the leader of the Spark Hunters after Edge went rogue, but the moment she has a deranged complex and having the thought of being Cursa's minion unimpressed her, she turns against her and the other Spark Hunters, gains followers of some of Cursa's forces and set up a base of operations on Melodic Gardens. She soon began building her Mecha Bob-omb army to succeed her coup against Cursa and rule the galaxy.

Mario and his friends meet with Kanya with Edge not knowing who she is, and Kanya reveals that she was created after her betrayal and reveals having her own plans. She distracts Allegra away as she sends Proto Mecha King Bob-omb to fight the heroes and despite its defeat, Kanya shows impression of this and leaves.

It was also revealed that Allegra's pet is a Dorrie who Kanya imprisoned and set up as a trap for the heroes to fight while piloting Mecha King Bob-Omb. Unfortunately for Kanya, Mecha King Bob-Omb short-circuits from the damage it sustained and launched her and itself into space, ending her corrupting influence on Melodic Gardens for good.

In the main game, there are four statues of the Spark Hunters found during the battle sequences of Cursa's stronghold, and only one of them is broken which happens be Kanya's. This foreshadows her role in the DLC.
Kanya can be seen as a much darker reflection of Edge, as they were both created and given free wills by Cursa for the purpose of being leaders of the Spark Hunters only for them to turn against it and go their separate ways. Edge is fully aware of Cursa's cruel nature with it absorbing the energy of the Sparks, who are obviously children adopted by Rosalina, and puts in effort to redeem the Spark Hunters, though unsuccessful and ends up leaving and joining Mario and co to save the Sparks and doing so out of the good of her heart and accepted her new friends and allies into her life while Kanya rebels only because she hated being Cursa's underling and wanted to do her own thing, but she wanted to use the Sparks for her own selfish gain and her desire to overthrow her creator was merely pragmatic as she wanted to rule the galaxy with terror and she abandons the Spark Hunters as well showing that she never had any affection for them the way Edge did. Kanya is an example of the person Edge would have ended up becoming like had she chosen not redeem to herself to become a better person
