Description dc vs The Mothman Prophecies

Studying methods to cure deafness by experimenting on bats, brilliant biologist Kirk Langstrom accidentally unveiled a formula that would go on to create one of Batman's most tragic foes, Man-Bat.

Struggling with his addiction to the Man-Bat serum, Kirk has been a threat to Gotham many times, but more recently managed to embrace his Man-Bat side, joining the Justice League Dark in an attempt to redeem himself and even ultimately giving his life for the safety of his city.
Powers and Stats

Tier: 10-A as Kirk Langstrom, 8-C as Man-Bat

Name: Kirk Langstrom, Man-Bat

Origin: DC Comics

Gender: Male

Age: Likely 30's

Classification: Human, scientist

Powers and Abilities:

Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Enhanced Senses (Man-Bat's sense of hearing is so powerful it can cover all of Gotham[1]. He can even see sound waves[2]), Flight (Can fly even with several holes in his wings[3]), Transformation (Will eventually transform back to his default form), Rage Power (Through sheer desperation, managed to go from being easily overpowered by Killer Croc to defeating him[3]), Sound Manipulation (Can shout loudly enough to stun nearby enemies[4]), Natural Weaponry (Claws and teeth), Resistance to Sound Manipulation (Was briefly fazed by a 200 decibel sound[5], which is usually lethal to humans. Despite being very close to a sonic blast, he was not deafened by it unlike the other people who were nearby[1]), sometimes all of Langstrom's abilities (Depending on how much intelligence he retains)

Genius Intelligence, Enhanced Senses (Even in his human form, Kirk had enhanced hearing[6]), Transformation (Can transform into his more savage, Man-Bat form), Sleep Manipulation (Has created a serum strong enough to knock out Solomon Grundy[7]), Information Analysis (Even small, portable tools that Kirk carries around are able to analyze objects on a cellular level[8]), Magic and Magic Negation (Figured out a spell to undo the seal that was put on Khalid by Nabu himself in a few days, despite having no prior experience with magic[9]), Biological Manipulation (In addition to his normal serum, which turned him into the bat-human hybrid he is now, Man-Bat has created various variations of it, such as one that transformed him into a horrible monster, created while under the effect of a mind manipulating ability[10]), Plant Manipulation (Created a serum that greatly boosted Swamp Thing's powers[11][12])

Attack Potency: Athlete level as Kirk Langstrom (Knocked out Scarecrow in one punch[2]), Building level as Man-Bat (Was originally comparable to Batman[5] and overpowered Red Hood and Arsenal at once[13]. Has become stronger in recent years[1], to the point that he could defeat Killer Croc and easily beat Captain Boomerang, Deadshot and Rick Flag[3])

Speed: Average Human as Kirk Langstrom. Subsonic flight speed (Flies faster than a van[1]), at least Supersonic+, possibly Hypersonic+ combat speed as Man-Bat (Grabbed both Red Hood and Arsenal before they could react[13]. Comparable to Batman)

Lifting Strength: Average Human as Kirk Langstrom, Class 25 as Man-Bat (Comparable to Batman. Can toss around vans[1] and large metal structures[14])

Striking Strength: Athlete level as Kirk Langstrom, Building level as Man-Bat

Durability: Athlete level as Kirk Langstrom, Building level as Man-Bat

Stamina: Superhuman for Man-Bat (Can fight even after suffering many wounds and fly with several holes in his wings[3])

Range: Standard Melee Range as Kirk Langstrom, Extended melee range as Man-Bat, several meters with wings.

Standard Equipment: Various scientific tools. Man-Bat serum

Optional Equipment: Anesthetics. Scientific and magical equipment
Intelligence: Extraordinary Genius. As one of the most renowned scientists on Earth[15], Kirk is incredibly knowledgeable in the field of biology, having created many variations of his Man-Bat formula[16] and even partial cures[17][5] and eventually fixed it, preventing it from turning him into a mindless beast[18]. Is able to analyze a body's cellular structure and make great progress in understanding the Upside-Down Man's effect on the universe through those studies[19]. Despite having started his studies of magic less than a few days before, managed to cast a spell that even Khalid Nassour, a skilled magician who would then go on to become Doctor Fate, thought was impressive[9]. Could build an advanced sonic cannon meant for subliminal messaging under Scarecrow's orders[20]. Varies from Animalistic to Extraordinary Genius as Man-Bat. Sometimes, he conserves his mind while transformed, while other times he's little more than a beast, or even its own split personality, although before his death, Langstrom could keep his intelligence even when transformed.

Weaknesses: The sounds of a sleeping bat colony can calm Man-Bat[5].

Mothman is the main focus of the iconic novel, The Mothman Prophecies. This novel tells the encounters with various strange phenomena around Point Pleasant, Virginia mainly focusing on the Mothman entity. Due to the book's popularity, a movie adaptation was produced, though loosely based.
