Superman is one of the most powerful beings on Earth and its greatest hero. Born to the illustrious House of El, Kal-El is one of the last surviving members of his race as his planet was destroyed not long after his birth. He was found and raised by Jonathan and Martha Kent in Smallville, Kansas. Raised with high moral ideals, he uses his incredible strength, speed, flight and various other superpowers to fight evil and protect the innocent as a symbol of heroism and justice. In his civilian identity he is Clark Kent, a mild-mannered reporter working for the Daily Planet in Metropolis. Superman is also a founding member of the Justice League of America and a charter member of the Legion of Superheroes in the 30th Century.

Kryptonian Physiology: Superman's cellular structure is much more dense, resilient, and biologically more effective than human tissue. He does not possess superhuman strength levels despite his enhanced cellular ability without his cellular structure charged with yellow solar energy. Without such charging, his physical capabilities are identical to a human of his height and weight who engages in regular physical activity. As an alien, he possesses several organs whose functions are not yet disclosed or understood but are believed to be part of or the source of his bio-matrix force field and reclamation aura. Superman's body also stores energy actively within his bio-cellular matrix as an energy pattern that is linked to his body's electromagnetic field. This energy powers most of his electromagnetic capabilities such as flight, heat vision and other "sight"-based abilities while supplementing his physical abilities to superhuman levels.
Solar Radiation Absorption: As a Kryptonian, his cells function like a super battery, hyper metabolizing specific wavelengths of radiation as fuel to enable living functions and/or superhuman abilities. Different wavelengths of radiation have different effects on Superman's physiology and well being, but his cells cannot absorb or utilize all types of radiation. The wavelength of his home solar system's red sun enables his body to function on an identical level of a healthy human while the Earth's solar radiation in both its raw and filtered state through the Earth's atmosphere acts as fuel to enable all of his powers. Every time Superman uses any of his superhuman abilities, his body expends absorbed sunlight and he is capable of utilizing any of them to various degrees through controlled circumstances. The solar-based radiation of a foreign blue star proved to increase his known abilities under a yellow sun to a higher degree and enabled additional powers. The existence and constant exposure to proven "healthy" radiation sources are not required for him to live and utilize his powers, but prolonged periods without exposure to them and/or utilizing his powers will require Kal-El to recharge in order to live and continue using his powers.
Heat Vision: Can accurately target things smaller than human beings from orbit, narrow or wide-beam, heat intensity can be greater than the core of the sun, can modulate it to deliver different frequencies and types to best effect his opponent after analyzing them with his sensory powers, can generate enough power to move entire planets.
Electromagnetic Spectrum Vision: He can see into all of the EM Spectrum. Superman can see and identify radio/television and all broadcast/transmitted frequencies, allowing him to avoid detection through radar or satellite monitoring methods.

Notes:

Death implied that the events of Where is Thy Sting really happened[229], Lois referenced WITS in Infinite Frontier[230], and Where is Thy Sting makes a reference to a line in an earlier comic where Wally West travels to the end of time, stating that he saw Superman experience the events of the comic, further showcasing it really did happen.[231]

Following Superman's return after his fight with Doomsday: Cyborg Superman rips off a pipe spewing Kryptonite radiation and aims it at Superman. The Eradicator shields Superman from the burst, but it ends up passing through his body, striking Superman. The room is filled with Kryptonite radiation. Superman now emerges from behind Cyborg, taking his cape back and striking the Cyborg with a powerful blow that goes through his body, revealing that the Kryptonite passing through the Eradicator's body had changed and now restored all of his powers.[233] It is later shown that Superman's powers have increased dramatically from this incident.
Following the encounter with Parasite, Superman was depowered to just before his powers were growing out of control.[234]
The description used in the Sun Eater explosion is almost certainly referring to the difference between a supernova's initial neutrino burst (which carries 99% of the supernova's energy), and the radiation, which escapes after.
Although Superman has withstood point blank weapon attacks from the Void Hound[235], the Void Hound destroying ten star systems during a test-drive was done one by one, using a unique weapon for rending a sun to shreds.[236]
The feat involving Apokolips and New Genesis colliding into Superman[237] was evaluated and deemed inappropriate to use. There are several reasons for this:
Superman only withstood an extremely small portion of the actual collision.
There are multiple inconsistencies regarding the sizes of Apokolips and New Genesis in different comic book stories, which makes it hard to determine which version that should be used.
Superman's own size was automatically massively increased by Boom Tube technology.
Given the sizes of New Genesis and Apokolips, they would have collided at faster than light speeds, which makes it impossible to calculate the kinetic energy involved.
The entire "Death of the New Gods" storyline has been considered to be of dubious canonicity.
Starbreaker's "destructive force of a nova" is determined to be hyperbole. Starbreaker's MO is that he moves a planet into the gravitational pull of the nearest sun, and he absorbs the energy from that exploding planet. At the moment, he has not reached his goal of living up to the name 'Starbreaker.' "By attacking this planet from three different corresponding points of structural weakness, I will set off a chain of events that will culminate in the most explosive climax of energy released anywhere!" So the 'Nova' energy used against Superman < Energy of a planet exploding.
Superman's training and fight with Muhammad Ali was canonized in his numerous mentions of the event, despite originating in a Pre-Crisis comic book.

Torquasm-Vo: A Kryptonian psychic discipline that involves the control of one's consciousness, and allows two practitioners to mentally battle one another.
Notes:

Death implied that the events of Where is Thy Sting really happened[229], Lois referenced WITS in Infinite Frontier[230], and Where is Thy Sting makes a reference to a line in an earlier comic where Wally West travels to the end of time, stating that he saw Superman experience the events of the comic, further showcasing it really did happen.[231]
DC Staff described their portrayal and depowering of Superman as no longer a planet juggler.[232]

Following Superman's return after his fight with Doomsday: Cyborg Superman rips off a pipe spewing Kryptonite radiation and aims it at Superman. The Eradicator shields Superman from the burst, but it ends up passing through his body, striking Superman. The room is filled with Kryptonite radiation. Superman now emerges from behind Cyborg, taking his cape back and striking the Cyborg with a powerful blow that goes through his body, revealing that the Kryptonite passing through the Eradicator's body had changed and now restored all of his powers.[233] It is later shown that Superman's powers have increased dramatically from this incident.
Following the encounter with Parasite, Superman was depowered to just before his powers were growing out of control.[234]
The description used in the Sun Eater explosion is almost certainly referring to the difference between a supernova's initial neutrino burst (which carries 99% of the supernova's energy), and the radiation, which escapes after.
Although Superman has withstood point blank weapon attacks from the Void Hound[235], the Void Hound destroying ten star systems during a test-drive was done one by one, using a unique weapon for rending a sun to shreds.[236]
The feat involving Apokolips and New Genesis colliding into Superman[237] was evaluated and deemed inappropriate to use. There are several reasons for this:
Superman only withstood an extremely small portion of the actual collision.
There are multiple inconsistencies regarding the sizes of Apokolips and New Genesis in different comic book stories, which makes it hard to determine which version that should be used.
Superman's own size was automatically massively increased by Boom Tube technology.
Given the sizes of New Genesis and Apokolips, they would have collided at faster than light speeds, which makes it impossible to calculate the kinetic energy involved.
The entire "Death of the New Gods" storyline has been considered to be of dubious canonicity.
Starbreaker's "destructive force of a nova" is determined to be hyperbole. Starbreaker's MO is that he moves a planet into the gravitational pull of the nearest sun, and he absorbs the energy from that exploding planet. At the moment, he has not reached his goal of living up to the name 'Starbreaker.' "By attacking this planet from three different corresponding points of structural weakness, I will set off a chain of events that will culminate in the most explosive climax of energy released anywhere!" So the 'Nova' energy used against Superman < Energy of a planet exploding.
Superman's training and fight with Muhammad Ali was canonized in his numerous mentions of the event, despite originating in a Pre-Crisis comic book.

Powdered Toast Man is a recurring character in The Ren and Stimpy Show, who frequents the titular character's house to shave off parts of his body to give them food. He runs a large corporate industry that supplies powdered toast to the world, and is in close contact with the President, and works as a superhero.

While he usually accomplishes his heroic deeds, his idiocy often causes mass-disaster, even destroying the planet as a side-effect of rescuing a kid from Waffle Woman.
