Description god of war vs  marvel
Thor Odinson is the prince of Asgard and a member of the Avengers. A skilled warrior and blessed with the ability to control lightning, he was worshipped by the Norse people of Midgard, who dubbed him the "God of Thunder and Wind". Thor also wielded the hammer, Mjölnir, as a weapon, using it to channel the Odinforce. Thor also visited the Earth on several occasions and was aware of the Kree Empire. He was among several gods battling a Kree Sentry in the past.

At some point, Thor was banished to Earth by his father to teach him humility. Whilst there, he became involved with other heroes when his adopted brother Loki began wrecking havoc in an unspecified event. This led to the foundation of the Avengers, which Thor became a member of. During his time on the team, he worked alongside Iron Man, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Ant-Man, the Hulk and Carol Danvers. On meeting Black Widow, Thor was skeptical of her place among the Avengers, but later realized he had underestimated her, and grew to respect her as well, especially for her bravery. Thor was among the Avengers that discovered Captain America and, upon reviving him, received a hard punch from the super-soldier. He quickly grew to respect the super-soldier and regarded him as a better man than himself. Thor's banishment to Earth also ended at some point, which led to him being granted access to its Bifröst.

Thor (Old Norse: Þórr) was the Norse Aesir God of Thunder, Lightning, Storms, Wrestling, and Strength. He was the son of Odin and Fjörgyn, step-son of Hróðr, Blóðughadda and Frigg, husband of Sif, older half-brother of Týr, Heimdall and Baldur. He was the father of Magni, Modi, Thrúd, step-father of Ullr, and uncle of Forseti.

Thor was renowned across the Nine Realms for being the slayer of the Jötnar, as well as being the strongest child of Odin, serving as his right-hand man and primary enforcer. Following the start of Fimbulwinter, Odin tasks Thor to find Kratos and Atreus and negotiate with them on the goal of preventing Ragnarök.

Thor is briefly introduced at the ending of God of War (2018), returning as a major antagonist in God of War: Ragnarök. Viewing Kratos as his match and being fully aware of the Spartan's background, Thor brutally confronts the murderer of his sons in what ultimately culminates in a bloody stalemate. Treated as little more than a henchman by Odin, Thor is also confronted with personal issues stemming from his loyalty to Odin being questioned by both his wife and his enemies, as well as his lapse back into alcoholism. Thor ultimately gets his end of the bargain during Ragnarök by defeating the World Serpent, Jörmungandr, and battling against Surtr (now Ragnarök), before immediately proceeding to furiously confront Kratos in one final battle. However, the former God of War is successful in overwhelming the God of Thunder this time, making a successful bid to make him see reason and stop the pointless bloodshed to set better examples to follow for the sake of their children, and Thor ultimately complies. However, this unfortunately results in his demise, as Odin mercilessly murders him for his defiance in front of his daughter, Thrúd.

Age: Over 200 years old, possibly thousands of years old (Thor was a fully-grown adult when Brok and Sindri forged Mjölnir for him 200 years prior to the events of God of War: Lore and Legends, with his sons having already been full-grown adults prior to this and being active in the Aesir-Vanir War)

Classification: Half-Aesir, Half-Jotunn, God of Thunder and Lightning

Powers and Abilities:

Superhuman Physical Characteristics
Runic Magic
Master Combatant (Trained Thrúd in secret to help her become a Valkyrie)
Weapon Mastery and Weapon Control (With Mjölnir)
Immortality (Types 1 and 2)
Lightning Manipulation, Paralysis Inducement, Status Effect Inducement, Weather Manipulation, Shockwave Inducement (Can perform an electric thunderclap)

BFR (The force of his blow was so powerful that he splintered Yggdrasil and hurled Jörmungandr back through time, however, it should be noted that this was completely accidental and random)
Soul Manipulation, Mind Manipulation and Memory Manipulation, Probability Manipulation, Conceptual Manipulation (Type 1) and Non-Physical Interaction (Souls are constructs of magic, composed of their form, the metaphysical nature of a being, their luck, their mind and their direction. The clashing of his Mjölnir with Laufey's Leviathan Axe tore apart many poor souls in the Vanaheim Crater Area[1]. Damaging souls can shatter and fragment their memories as a consequence[1])
Stealth Mastery (Has a habit of repeatedly sneaking up on Odin and catching the latter off-guard, even doing so for people who would consider him an ally at times if they pose a threat to him)
Soul Manipulation, Mind Manipulation,Memory Manipulation, Probability Manipulation and Conceptual Manipulation (Type 1) (Souls are constructs of magic, composed of their form, the metaphysical nature of a being, their luck, their mind and their direction. Unaffected by the clashing of his Mjölnir with Laufey's Leviathan Axe, which tore apart many poor souls in the Vanaheim Crater Area.[1] Damaging souls can shatter and fragment their memories as a consequence[1])
Ice Manipulation (Withstood blows from the Leviathan Axe. Visibly unaffected by Fimbulwinter, which completely froze over Midgard and almost all of its water bodies)
Fire Manipulation, Chaos Manipulation and Holy Manipulation (Could withstand being attacked and immolated by the Blades of Chaos)
Poison Manipulation and Seidr Magic (Can endure attacks from the Eitr-imbued Leviathan Axe and the Hilt of Dáinsleif, which releases Seidr poison. Poisoning Thor was considered to be as impossible as destroying a mountain with a soup spoon)
Bifrost Magic (Able to resist Kratos's usage of Bifrost Chakrams)
Electricity Manipulation (Withstood his own lightning. Can withstand the Hilt of Ridill)
Sound Manipulation (Can withstand the Hilt of Angravadall)
Absorption and Resistance Negation (Could entirely resist the Draupnir Spear's Siphon and its abilities[2])

Attack Potency: Low Complex Multiverse level (His first fight with Jörmungandr shook all Nine Realms[3]. Violently shook and then splintered Yggdrasil in his second fight with the Serpent[4], hurling the latter[2] back through time. Easily fought against both Jörmungandr and Surtr, now Ragnarök,[2] with the latter destroying[2] both Asgard and its World Tree branch[5] in the process,[2] which in turn shakes the entire tree to its core[6]. Fought on par with Ragnarok Kratos numerous times and had his blows described as being as heavy as any that the latter had felt,[7] putting Thor on par with Hercules at the least. Capable of staggering Kratos' use of Valor and preventing healing completely.[8] Stated by[9] multiple sources[1] to be the strongest Norse god[10])

Speed: Infinite (His shockwaves encompassed the entirety of Yggdrasil,[4] which is an infinite higher-dimensional structure, as well as the Nine Realms within it.[3] Is also able to use said shockwaves in combat consistently[11] and keep up with Kratos, who can react to, block[11] and dodge his shockwaves[2])

Lifting Strength: Immeasurable (Stated[9] to be[1] the strongest Norse god.[10] Wrestled with Kratos numerous times in their battles and held him in place while controlling Mjölnir)

Striking Strength: Low Complex Multiverse level (Easily fought against both Surtr and Jörmungandr at the same time[2]. Fought on par with Kratos numerous times, often matching him blow for blow, but was ultimately overpowered. Stated[9] to be[1] the strongest Norse god[10])

Durability: Low Complex Multiverse level (Took hits from Jörmungandr and Surtr as Ragnarök. Managed to endure numerous blows from Kratos, as well as having his inner organs blown up by the Draupnir Spear several times in a row with no apparent damage[2])

Stamina: Superhuman (Able to easily laugh off multiple brutal beatdowns from Kratos, though the latter was holding back in their first fight)

Range: Extended Melee Range. Tens of Kilometers with lightning attacks. Up to Low Complex Multiversal with shockwaves (The force of his blows were powerful enough to shake the Nine Realms, as well as eventually splinter Yggdrasil)

Standard Equipment: Mjölnir

Intelligence: Average normally, Genius in combat (Many characters who've met him, Brok and Mimir in particular, show contempt of Thor's intelligence and openly refer to him as "the big idiot". However, in the field of battle, Thor is exceptionally proficient warrior regarded as Asgard's greatest, with millennia of training and experience in killing countless of the enemies of the Aesir, particularly the Giants and the Vanir. Extremely skilled in both unarmed hand-to-hand combat and wielding Mjölnir, Thor masterfully combines both proficient martial arts, such as boxing, wrestling, and grappling, and expert handling of his hammer, capable of contending with even the likes of Kratos, an extraordinary warrior who was "without equal" back in Greece and who had killed all the Gods in Greece and slew Magni and Baldur, both being remarkable fighters amongst the Aesir, forcing their first fight to end in a stalemate and only narrowly being defeated in their second fight. He also has demonstrated a degree of cunning at certain situations, as displayed by him being able to see through Atreus's attempts to play him by sending him on Surtr's Gauntlet while he would do something else and cleverly waiting until Starkaor was weakened before executing him)

Weaknesses: Family issues, stemming from having been abused by his father Odin as a child. Is an alcoholic, constantly proceeding to drown his sorrows in beer and suffering from hangovers when it least benefits him.
