Because there's no way Twilight would simply watch a screeching contest, because, you know...research!I'm gong to have to practice at drawing hippogriffs, I have the feeling they're going to turn up a lot this season!

Twilight is single mother, a principal of a school, one of the rulers of a kingdom, one of the heroes of the kingdom, and has to deal with the fact that her son will face a lot ofΒ discrimination just because he not a pony. And that not bringing the problems she face growing up as both young mother and prize student of the ruler kingdom, the same ruler who she the reason why she a single a mother. So yeah she has a lot stress to screech out.

holy shite i didnt think about it that way yet.
though twilights mother is probably more of a mother for spike since twilight was to young to actually take care of spike.

A lot think she or Celestia was the one who raise but we have seen nothing to even hint of that in anything canon. In fact everything we seen suggest that Twilight raise Spike all on her own.

i find that very hard to believe since twilight was to young to even properly take care of a pet stand alone a baby dragon.
eather celectia or twilights mother had to take care of spikeΒ

It is really not a matter of believing as it is a matter of what has been shown and said. What little interaction Spike has have with Celestia has always been formal and there has been no interaction shown between him and Velvet at all. Plus Spike has said it was his worst fear that Twilight would send him away and he been shown to be very jealous when Twilight started giving moreΒ attention Owlicious than him, the fact that he said he normally only get one gift on his birthday and that from Twilight, the comic about how Twilight started taking care of him, and many other small interactions between them.

My guess was that either Twilight
1) raised Spike from birth while having to juggle her studies or
2) have Celestia handle Spike's infant years than have him sent to be her assistant when he is old enough to take care of himself or at least not haveΒ her worry about diaper changing.
Option 2 is more likely since IDW issue 40 showed howΒ TERRIBLE that idea could be. Not to mention, Spike's VA said that Twilight and Spike's relationship is like between an older and younger sibling with the elder one being a substitute parent.
(For example: Nani and Lilo from Lilo and Stitch) instead of mother and son.
So TLDR: Celestia handled the beginning and Twilight handled the rest. Doesn't make their relationship any less invalid either way.

I'mΒ afraid the flaw in your logic is that the comic shown that option one was what happen, bad idea or not. Which fits it perfectly with what we seen in the show. Also I have to disagree with how you view their relationship, while it is true that it look like at the start as we they have gone along their relationship looks far more like that of a mother who had her child in her teen years, and the son who grew up when his mother was still growing herself.Β Something I for one can relate to.

I messed up on explaining number one. I meant that the events of issue 40 still happened but after showing how disastrous it was, Twilight let Celestia raise Spike after a few days. I agree with the rest though.

GoldandSliverDragon In reply to justafan123413 [2018-04-30 03:13:28 +0000 UTC]
But the same issue did make it clear that Twilight was the primarily care giver Spike, even after the events in it. I don't see Celestia having much if anything to do with raising Spike base on everything we have seen.

Now with "Sparkles Seven" showing that Twilight's family took care of Spike, it seemed to cast everything into a loop.

You know, I was thinking about how Twilight would participate in said screeching contest. Figured she'd have a way of participating in it, but of course, she also knows Luna, who's probably given her a few pointers on the Royal Canterlot Voice by now, and, well, mix that with a nice loud yell...
The hippogriffs are cool, but it seems that happy and cheery attitude is a culture wide thing, and not just limited to select individuals (excepting their queen, who's the only hippogriff (who was important enough to have a speaking role) who doesn't seem to reflect these traits). Which is fine...but it does start getting a little wearying en masse after a few minutes of it, and we got a lot of it in this episode.
