kindly reminded me that a week tomorrow there's a steam rail tour coming through Bolton. Since there's only one a year that comes through on this line I'm certainly going to go out of my way to see it come through.

But it suddenly reminded me that I took a Photograph of the exact same rail tour pulling out of Bolton Station last year whilst standing in roughly 1ft of snow outside Bolton station. I do love this image, and it came out wonderfully to say I was using my cheap camera that I usually use for animation. Sometimes you don't need a fancy camera to get that perfect shot.

I also went to see the tour come back through Bolton later that night. It was too dark to photograph anything, but being stood behind the fence at the side of the line whilst two Black 5's rattles past at speed pulling their heavy train can only be described in one word: Magic.

I still think they should bring back steam trains for some of the more rural areas in this country.

Any who, I'm going to be away till Sunday, so expect some doodles from my train journeys upon my return.
