Four deviations in four days? I'll take a small break break now, I promise (mostly!)

So my current project at university is to produce three A3 sized illustrations for a children's fairytale book, based on translations of the original brothers grim texts. I drew this as a pencil sketch half way throughout my lesson whilst on a tea break to give me a quick break from my proper work, in which I'm actually drawing illustration for "The Pied Piper of Hamelin". A quick live trace in Illustrator and a splash of colour later, this was the result.

No doubt this is what Vinyl sees in her nightmares!

Why would a giant Octavia have a tiny golden cello? I've no idea, but the amount of contradictions in the original texts are quite hilarious. It even got to the point where we all discussed as a group whether the oven in Hansel and Gretel was lit when they shoved the witch into it!

Remember folks, when you go to university you don't focus fancy degree and studying, you actually focus on the technical side of fairy tales!
