It's interesting how the giants dehumanize the little people by calling them 'it'. It seems like they should recognize them as intelligent beings (they look like the giants, are dressed in clothes, and speak the same language), and they probably deserve a more dignified 'he' or 'she.'
Not that I hate that the little people are treated that way. It definitely points out how insignificant they might seem in the eyes of the giants.
