Not really. The creatures don't live very long so their future is their child. The parents will be gone before he's fully grown.

Hmm.. I just felt that they were "loading" something onto the child. (like expectations to how he was going to live his life.)

Interesting way to interpret it.
In any case, these creatures are based on a story of sorts I have. They live for about 2 years, but don't fully mature until they are a year an a half. So they put everything into their child for those 6 months to ensure their future (bloodline, lineage) continues. Their lives are so very short. However this little one lives longer than 2 years and also doesn't seem to be maturing right - he's 3 years old here but still looks like a juvenile [link] and all his peers have long since passed away.

That is an amazing story. Did you write it down, or is it in your head and your drawings? What will happen to him?

Thank you. It's in my head and also jotted down as notes and comments in my sketchbook. I don't know what will happen to him yet... story creates itself as I draw.

Father, mother & child. Child is their future.
