I've been browsing your gallery and you are a really great artist!
This reminds me of the H.C. Andersen story The Nightingale (for anyone not familar, the emperor orders his servants to buid him a mechanical nightingale to replace the real one)

I think it may be awkward in that there is a smiley keychain the the center, but it was rather a feeling of sadness as I drew the baby chicks.

Maybe I'm wrong, but to me it seems as if nature were derided by our reckless behavior, the chicks appear like victims.....

Perhaps. But it is also open to many interpretations. When I drew this there was no intention or planning, it just came out as my hand directed.

I think you're right, with the robotic bird and all! Oddly though, it started off as a regular bird and someway through the drawing became mechanized.
