Thank y'all for my first 10,000 views! that is so rad!i've been busy and somewhat...let's say... unmotivated about art recently.
I met a prof for art and showed him my work. He wasn't quite into my style and told me straight out that he didn't like it.
For some reason it kept me doubtful about what I'm doing and where I'm going with my art, altough it really shouldn't. I knew art can be seen from endless perspectives and shouldn't be judged just based on its surface, but it still kept me questioning myself. He could not understand what i intentionally wanted to express with my work. Pretty easy-flowing and somewhat empty minded i answered, that I mostly capture beauty from the view of my eyes rather than expressing any sort of deep meaning. You know what I mean? I guess that's why I'm not into abstractism, because you are forced to conclude every single brushstroke as a puzzle of ahh I don't even know....
To show my art to this prof was kinda big deal to me because it will later decide whether i'm able to go to art school or not.

I understand your point. Sometimes I think that art doesn't have to have some deep metaphysical meaning but having beauty itself as the esthetic message.

Ich glaube was er meinte ist, dass Du zwar echt groΓes Talent hast, Dich aber nicht weiter entwickelst. Ich sehe seit einigen Bildern immer nur diese hΓΌbschen MΓ€dchen mit diesen groΓen Pupillen und makellosem Puppengesicht vor (wie hier) Sternenhimmel oder sonst irgendeinem abstrakten Hintergrund..
Ich persΓΆnlich mag das an sich schon sehr! Keine Frage.
Aber es ist... (jedenfalls hier) durch z.B. Deine Comissions immer das gleiche. Versuch doch mal von Deinem Stil weg zu kommen, back to basics wie man sagt, und neues zu entwickeln. Nimm Dir ein Blatt Papier, ein paar Bleistifte, wenn nΓΆtig ein Radiergummi (WΓΌrde ich aber auch weg lassen), ein Model und fang an zu zeichnen. Genau das was Du siehst. So mach ich es immer, wenn ich mal nicht weiter komme ^^'
Btw, ist dieser Professor an einer Aachener Uni? (:

danke fuer die Worte. Du hast im gewissen sinne schon recht, nur manchmal will man das was man tut nicht veraendern. ich weiss dass veraenderungen kommen werden, liegt ja noch einiges vor mir. der prof war in karlsruhe.

I think the professor was full of hot air! I think this is magical, beautiful and well done! It has eye appeal, and so what if it's brainsless! Art is an interpretation of an individuals mind, and yours is fell of beauty!

ask another prof
as you can see your art is loved by so much watchers 
and normal profs wants to see realistic stuff and blahblah, the creativeless thing you learn on art academys xD
but you got two things some artist NEVER will have: 1. finding own style 2. the feeling of perfection
DO something, SELL your art, learn how to market yourself this is a way you CAN go if your willing let you. or... i dont know... where you want to see your art in the feature.
but dont be sad, this prof isnt god, hes a blind idiot. in german we say to that people small-minded xD
dont let other people get in your mind your art is GREAT

Ah choices choices. I remembered when i made mine. Well the important thing is to conclude weather or not you want to make a living off making or selling your art. Art is good because it helps ppl appriciate beauty(in this picture quite stunningly made as well). The trick to art is you have to approach it with a merchants mindset and not an artists one to sell it off. Don't worry you have really good ability so fight for your spot under the limelight.

Superb painting.
I went through the same thing you are describing while getting my undergraduate degree, and it really got me down. In short.. without even realizing it, I felt forced to do what other people would like me to do instead of taking it in the direction that I wanted to. I also started to think that my art should always have some profound meaning behind it's content.. that I should be able to answer questions and talk about my work. 
I guess it's kind of like they say: In order to be liked, first you must like yourself.
