Description
This is my latest purchase,an ancient Roman coin minted during the reign of emperor Constans,AD 337-350. Constans is the youngest son of Constantine the Great.
Obverse: Portrait of the emperor, diademed; lettering : DN CONSTANS PF AVG
Reverse: Victoria, holding laurel and palm branch. lettering: VICT(ORIA) AVG;mint mark SM K(?)
The coin has a diameter about 17mm. The dealer asks for $11 .Not much a bargain but the coin still retains many details,so it is ok for me. Also, this coin seems to be a rather type, based on my little search.
It is said he struck this coin to celebrate the victory over his brother,Constantine II.
