They strongly resemble our red-tailed hawks. In the northern USA, there are turkey buzzards that look similar so I'm told because one of my northern friends kept insisting my red-tailed hawk was a turkey buzzard, but I have lived in the south pretty much my entire life minus 3 years and 4 months, so I know a hawk when I see one!

Apparently Buzzards and Hawks are the same species. I live in Virginia and all my life buzzard was a term used for Vultures, but the birds with the actual name of Buzzard are part of the Buteo species, which includes Hawks. I just looked all this up, since I thought buzzards were vultures as well.

To day I bought a book about taking photos in the wild. While skimreading it I found a photo that caught my attention and it was not only because it was beautiful but also because it look amasingly alike one of your photos. As soon as I got home I went to your deviant page and I compared the two photos, they have a lot of features in common but it is not the same photo. Then, to make sure it wasn't one of your works, I checked the photographers that participated in making the book.
