I'm just curious why this one is the favorite of the great landscape photographers (a Romanian one, you and hougaard-which didn't faved it but he told me that he likes it)
I know it's nice, well exposed and composed but there are more like that in my gallery but they don't get the same appreciation.
I didn't spent too much time taking this one, as I spent on others. I saw the opportunity (the sun was in front of me and the track passes this huge rock, so I passed the rock, I turned back I composed the picture and this is the result. I didn't spent too much time taking it because it was a freezing temperature with high winds which made it seem a lot colder than it was.

I think it's because it is so unique, it actually reminds me of a place called "Devil's Tower" in Wyoming, Google it! It is just a damn exposure!

I know Devil's Tower from Wyoming, I saw it in photos
I graduated college and the main field of study was geography and tourism.
And yes it looks like Devil's Tower but it doesn't have those vertical long "scars".

Yeah... I was almost on top of it...
Everybody here on deviant thinks it's dangerous... and yes it was, but places like this are very often in mountains and I think this adds beauty to the scene... It was a big abyss on the right side...
But the photo is made looking back... the way to the peak is behind....

Exact aici am facut baie cu zapada in mai 2001 cand erau 32C afara, dupa o ascensiune in fuga ca sa apuc sa cobor inainte de inserare (e un traseu de 10 ore pe care l-am redus la 6 ore). Eram in tura de bike de 10 zile/1130 km intre Moldova si Transilvania). E una din cele mai extreme dar in acelasi timp placute ture montane din viata mea, merci ca mi-ai adus aminte acum!

Da, cred ca a fost cea mai calda primavara/vara din mileniul asta (cel putin pana acum): era 1 mai si Pastele in aceeasi zi.
