Description This is one of two sculpts that I did from molds I made from series of original faces I sculpted for a variety of projects I have in the works right now. I then altered each one of the "molded" faces and blended them together to achieve an overall flow and continuity within each plaque. I will then fix these both permanently to a larger piece of driftwood that I am embellishing for inclusion in a show that I am to do later this year in November.

This is the decidedly more feminine of the two face collages that will be added to the same tree. I based most of the original female sculpts on the classic faces one sees in Renaissance angelic faces in sculptures and statuary because of the kind of emotions such faces and expressions evoke in me when I view them. I wanted to imbue my "Dreaming Tree" with that strange ethereal almost emotionless look such faces as those upon which I based these often times seem to possess. Sad and aloof and not quite human all at the same time...

Thank you...that was a project that sort of fizzled out... I'll have to revive that one I think.

Bingo! Pretty much exactly what was running through my mind as I assembled this...it always makes me happy when folks "get it" when they see my stuff! Makes me think that maybe I'm not too far off bringing my vision into fruition.

How can I now? I've been trapped by it all...for better or worse...whether the world falls apart tomorrow and comes crashing down all around us, I have to keep on with this....
