you're a life saver. I'm in the middle of building maps for a campaign I'm running and I have an island city with like..5 different ports. Keep up the great work!

Crap! I love this! But the sea hurts in the eyes, soften colour

Thanks. The water is a real photo of water. The map was not made in layers so it would be hard to soften just the water.

Very cool! Love it. I like how you did the water, and the waves up against the main peer.
I have a question about roof shingles. What are you doing to create them and/or what is the best way to create them? Also, if you are creating a round tower roof (basically a cone) from the top view, what is the best way to do that with roof shingles? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, glad you like the map.
The building on the bottom of the map is a photo of a model train station. I assume though that you are referring to the other two buildings. The shingles are seamless roof tiles I got at cgTextures.com I simply made rectangular sheets of them then cut & pasted & assembled & shadowed and edited them into houses. I'm not sure how to make a cone out of them, though anyone skilled in photoshop or gimp could probably do it easily enough. If I had to make a tower roof I would probably make 6 or 8 wedges and assemble them out of the wedges.

Very cool! Thank you for the reply. I actually found a tutorial how to make roof tiles in Illustrator on Youtube, so I'm adapting that technique for the rounded, cone shaped roof.
