But I think that you are mistaken with some things.
At first there are to many details in this photo to make it HDR, the original photo have more details and the photo is more "heavy". I agree with the composition, maybe if I shot a little more left it would be nicer. Also there are plenty of details in the shadows and in the highlights. If you download it and check it in Photoshop you will see that there are details and the shadows aren't 0 in all parts. So maybe your monitor needs a good calibration. I saw this photo on 4 calibrated monitors and it looks good. There is a little difference in the shadows but it isn't that big
