this scene always stuck with me because you get the feeling Bolt genuinely wants to save Mittens but only because he needs her alive to find penny, if that wasn't the case do you think he would just let Mittens drop? I mean since at this point in the movie Bolt still believes he is an action hero/super dog. at least that's how i see it

Bolt is so heroic. And yet he is met with such skepticism from that cat. If it was me I'd just grab that paw.
