Mureon have special glands in their skin that render their fur highly toxic to other fakemon. They seem to thrive best in city environments, causing people to believe that Mureon evolved for the first time around people.

Mureon is based on the african crested rat, which is poisonous because of the oily secretions in its fur! The second half of the inspiration comes from common rats that carry diseases over to other animals.
