Description
I called this first abomination cuz until this day i can't really figure out what this is.This in fact was the first metal project i ever created in my life so i guess it really shows?
Let's just say i learned how to saw metal, how to solder, how to rivet, how to polish metal and most of all how to set a damn stone.
It's made of copper dipped in patina, sterling silver, pure silver for da vessel and a Moon Stone which by da way was a real kick in the balls to set cuz moon stone is a soft stone and it can crack just by looking at it! Ok Joke there!
but it's real soft so i had to be very careful to set it so it would not break. And !!! it didn't break!
So this means i'm a fuckin' genius considering it was my very first piece of metal art.
I lost my metal artizan virginity with this!
Like they say, u never forget da first one. In this case i wish i could forget it cuz i look at it now and think it's an abomination.
By da way, it is a brouch.
2" x 2".
Oh!! and u can see me takin' pictures of my abomination
in da reflexion of da silver. Daz me!

I know you hate it (I know what that's like, I've already scavenged some of the pieces I made for school), but I think it's beautiful. I love the contrast between the patina on the copper and the high-polished silver. Did you use liver of sulphur on the copper? The copper looks etched, am I right? Anyway I think its great, especially for a first piece. By the way, I love your passion! When you were going off on Calvin Klein, that was the most passionate description I have read for any work on this site. Thanks for all the favorites!

eeeeeeee~! it looks like a little bucket!
I can see the copper this time!!! Yay!!
now, a question for a now metal non-virgin (hehe...still in the metalic experimental stages)
when soldering, do you always need to use that lead wire stuff, or if the metal is soft enough can it be soldered just to itself, if you follow me ^.^''''
My mom used to do stained glass and when I asked her if I could borrow her soldering do-a-ma-thingy she was all like "wait!!! we don't have any lead wire, or copper foil or flux!!! You can't solder without that!!!!" but for somereason I had always thought that those were just for stained glass......
I love the reflection, tehe!
