This is a very fascinating piece. Her features are strong, the coloring is calming and beautiful, and the eyes are strikingly emotional and realistic. The fear in her face, and the way she seems to hide herself in her hood makes the viewer wonder what is troubling her. The dark blue snaking around the corners and side seem to represent an impending danger or threat, and has an almost menacing appearance. ( Depending on how the viewer interprets the painting). Overall, this portrait is a job very well done.
