I haven't used a palette similar to this before, so it was really fun and interesting to work on the lighting and I'm glad it payed off!

Technically, it isn't a deer. I guess it would be called a cervid. The big difference between a deer and the Taojoo is the fact that the Taojoo has three toed hooves rather than two. It's also a very large animal. As soon as I post it to my page, I'll include the description of the Taojoo.

Well, it is in a story I've written and posted to my page here on DA. The name of the story is "Marooned on Tashoo", if you're interested in reading it. I forgot to mention in my description that the Taojoo is the main prey animal on Tashoo because it is the most abundant. The Taojoo normally gives birth to four "fawns" at a time and, unlike most cervine species on Earth (Terra), the herds of Taojoo include males and females and the female-male ratio is approximately 5 to 1. Herds of Taojoo have been numbered in the hundreds, although they average 20 to 30.
BTW, if you like the Taojoo, you should check the Chakootoa and see the detail that BoneSmirk put on it. AND keep an eye out for future drawings of animals I've created. I've also got an animal on my page called the Kootona and Azarothy. I'm thinking of having BoneSmirk draw them in her style, eventually.
