**Update 2.0 - Character design is complete!**

-Update 1.9 -Finishing the highlighting, and now I begin the shading for the rest of the artwork!

-Update 1.8 - Hair is shaded, now to begin shading the clothes. (OMFG, that hair took longer than I anticipated.)

-Update 1.7 - Starting off with the base colors, before I begin shading! Posting the Black and White Artwork seperately!

-Update 1.6 - This is the Black and White, with NO Headphones, version. I will add the headphones, but most likely, when it is colored. Black & White version will be published in a separate post later, after it is colored.

-Update 1.5 - Fixed every anatomical error thus far in the draft, I hope I am ready to finish up here. (Somehow, his neck was stretched WAY too far out. And Apparently, ahem... He didn't have an ass. Literally, like it was a flat plane. That's not possible. So, I gave him an ass. Cuz, you know, he needs one. To, um, sit down, stand. Look anatomically correct? I dunno. ALSO! Headphones. I based them on an idea I thought up, in a dream!

-Update 1.4 - Re-drew all the anatomy. Body was disproportioned in multiple places. Added special Sword design, as well as added custom straps to holster the scabbard. Beginning work on proper Headphones design as well as finalizing work on everything.

-Update 1.3 - Simple draft of body, along with a simple draft of clothing done. Had to stretch out the canvas some more for the body to fit. Finalizing all work, before final re-draw.

-Update 1.2 - Finished hair details, onto torsal anatomy!

-Update 1.1 - MORE HAIR EMPHASIS. I am sick of making Cape Hair! It needs to be edited, so all the corners are sharpened. But, dat hair. -w-

This is more a re-do project, with further observation and notes taking.

It's being done to understand how the heck I did this drawing the first time.
First off, I made the muzzle slightly longer and thinner. The eyes are a variant of My eye style, and Attack on Titan - Levi's eyes.
I like to draw the pants, because his pants just look awesome. But I may have to re-draw some of the lines, because the folds are annoying me here.

I might also add in a nice little chest tuft, but I'm contemplating, because this implies V-Necks, and I don't like V-Necks, personally. XP
I'll do what I have to, for the sake of the design. Just trying things out.

I also added a Sword to the design concept, because I am a self taught Kendo swordsman! Based the strapping design on sheath designs I saw in Soul Calibur! ,\m/

Hair is exaggerated here, but the overall length is as long as his arms at his sides. I was trying to base the concept on the Dead or Alive loading screens, because they do that. And I love it.

I am working with a newer more updated color scheme, this time, I am emphasizing color. In previous works, I used a simple greyscale color set for Red. I noticed that it is because of this that the art fails, because it isn't attracting my eyes to the screen. So, adding a little color to all the greys makes the art jump out more!

I created more anatomically understandable straps for the Scabbard harness, and how it should lay on the body. Wraps around waist and properly keeps the scabbard on Red's Hip.
Sword design is based on two different outputs, Zac Graysonn's Sword, and Musashi Miyamoto's (Specifically, the sword he used in his Duel against Kojiro Sasaki.). The Blade itself is magnetically charged in the sheath, and can repel most, if not all metal. Allowing Red to be able to deflect even bullets! As well as keeping it from being grabbed and disarming Red.

In this design, Red is wearing a skin-thight nanofiber bulletproof top. Which fits the body, and ends after the deltoid muscles. (Shoulders.) A special fabric that is also waterproof, and hydrophobic to avoid stains; Not to mention it is machine washable. This idea was based on the nanofiber suits I use on the MEC Soldiers for "Project MEC™." And frankly, it makes him look sexy.

In all seriousness though, it's for combat preference. Since a shirt would easily rip and tear, as well as get in the way of the scabbard, whenever Red tries to unsheathe the blade. The Jacket is usually unzipped, exposing his nanosuit armor. Mainly as a fashion sense, but it's a Leather Jacket. a 3 pound Leather Jacket, that thing is hot! (And it glows! -w-)***

I may just get rid of the headphones, but it is tricky, I love the headphones, and cannot decide whether or not to get rid of them.

Now to discuss the character's origin. Brace yourself, it is rather confusing.

Red Vanquish's name, came from a Poll I did a while back, in a small private group on Facebook. We were looking for a name for a title (Or maybe it was a name for a character.). One of my friends was just playing "Vanquish" by Platinum Games®, and came up with the last name based on mixing two outputs, Red Savarin's name, from Solatorobo, and the title Vanquish itself. The group voted for a different name, and showed little interest in the name; So, I asked if I could take the name, because I loved it, and wanted to use it on something. Eventually I decided to use it as the name of a story I wrote a while back, labeled "The Red Vanquish." A post-apocalyptic story about the fight between Mortals, Gods and Demons.

After a while, I wanted to write the story, but it was during a time when I was a bit closeted on the Furry fandom. (It's the truth, I'm not ashamed, it was 2009; People were a$$holes. I chose to lay low.) The characters, well, the main Protagonists and Antagonists were Human and Furry, there was a mix of the groups. The main Character was named Red Vanquish. And ironically, he looked almost identical to Red here, now. Down to the hair. Except he wore full red attire. If you saw an old Gmod artwork I did on The Red Vanquish, it will show you.

One day, my brother made a facebook, and immediately told everyone that he was a Brony; This, out of everything inspired me to stand up for my fears, and tell my family that I was a Furry.
This was already common knowledge everywhere else, but not to my family and real-life friends. Once I told the world, This concept came back up again, except Red wore more casual attire, with a major cyberpunk feel to his fashion. I wanted to name him Red, but had no idea what kind of last name to give him. Red (The one shown here. The NEW Red.) was supposed to embody a side of my personality, in a color coded fashion, embodying the color Red. But this would have sent mixed messages explaining it in the way I was going to; and frankly, I didn't feel like drawing the real me, due to boredom. (What can I say, I like my fursona. He's floofeh.) Eventually, I remembered my old story, which I shelved, and decided to name Red; Red Vanquish! I decided to keep the name, and keep the name alive. After a long and spiraling road, the name came to a place where it just fit.

After, i'm gonna make some drafts for the design of the character, when I can determine how the dimensions of the head work. Which I think I almost completely understand!
