All good concepts! It'd take a LOT for something to be considered "weird" in this online world of ours. Another commenter mentioned this reminded them of the Indian in the Cupboard and The Borrowers, which is in a similar vein as what you mentioned.

I think she's thinking "Oh no!"
that they have amicro infestation in the library, not only do they use the paper as toiletpaper, but also for fire, 78% of all library fires are caused by micro infestation fires getting out of hand. And even if they are keeping their fires in check, fact still remains that they ruin books, who knows what litterary works her library has lost alsready?
