I found a fun way to come out with lore and stuff!

Each month or two I'll be making a magazine cover for 'SHADE!' magazine, and the topics on the cover have something to do with the lore.

Today we're covering Fashion, Reproduction and Duchess Prismora the Mascot!

Fashion

Okay so this was actually something MaiKeehl and Marshrnallow noticed together, but a lot of Chromites actually have a side-shaved hairstyle, so I decided to make it a canonical fashion trend! It is a very common hairstyle, though it doesn't suit everyone. Prismora certainly wouldn't don it, though her datefriend Val does on the default. ;3

Chromites actually wear a lot of greys, blacks and whites, to keep their eyes from hurting too much! Especially in the Light Season, where the sun constantly beams through the cracks of the great crevasse. This DOES NOT MEAN THEY DO NOT WEAR COLORS! By all means they wear colors! Remember, Chromites don't HATE color, they just hate how much it hurts, and they're very misunderstood by the Palettites who believe that they wish to eradicate color from the universe.

Chromite fashion is very much like normal human fashion! Except, they don't wear pants 90% of the time. Some may wear shorts, and skirts, and dresses are very common, no matter what gender their default is. To Chromites, all fashion is unisex. So it's not strange to see a buff man wearing a summer dress, or a female wearing very masculine attire.

Reproduction

Chromites reproduce like humans, pretty much. Though it can be a messy affair with all the goo, so the 'less goopy' of the two is usually the dominant to make things much more simple. However, Goop Play is a fetish! It is pretty much the BDSM of the Chromite world. Don't ask how; you won't get any answers. Yet. ;3

Chromite women carry their babies for a mere 5 months; this is due to most of their bodies being slime-based, so it doesn't have to develop quite as much as the base and head of the body. Women also tend to carry one or two babies at a time, though three or four is pretty common too and more than that is considered a blessing from the Shade Lord. More on that later.

Duchess Prismora

The reason people believe her to be half-Palettite, even though she really isn't and it has been proven, is because her father is known to have had many, many affairs over the years during the Color Wars; even with the enemy. So it was believed for a long time that Prismora was a bastard child with one of the mistresses he was caught with on Color Pearl (Palettite Homeworld). This lead to him almost being Court Marshall'd, but he managed to stay in the military until he was killed on the field. It's believed that Prismora doesn't know about the affairs and instead just thinks the rumors are nasty bullying techniques, and that her half-siblings are the result of a relationship which her father decidedly left her mother for. This is far from the truth, as Prismora's mother and father were still together, and her mother is still so in grief and in love with Prismora's father that she refuses to tell Prismora anything about the affairs. Especially since she holds her own father in high regard.
