Five years ago, I posted my first ever Avatar fanart here on DeviantArt, drawn I think the night after the first two episodes premiered. You can see how far five years of drawing stupid shit on here has gotten me (or hasn't gotten me...sigh)! Here's to the next five years, where I'll hopefully learn to actually DRAW and not cover up shit in Photoshop! X3;;;(TECHNICALLY, the Five Year mark was may 14th, but whatever, I didn't have time that day. Or month, really.)

I've read similar remarks from a number of webcomic artists--just putting in time on their art on a regular basis over a long period tends to polish up their skills. And in your case, I'd say the improvement is vast. Don't beat yourself up, you do good stuff.

It has done MUCH. But then again you're always had it in you. Look at that marker colouring. It's so straight and perfect. And you didn't even go OVER TEH LINEZ.

a lot of improvement over the 5 years...from what I think are Markers to Photoshop...

Hey, half of being an artist is learning how to cover up the stuff you can't draw in a way that makes it look like you actually can draw it, but chose not to
Probably the best quote I've ever heard came from a (professoinal) comic book artist I saw on TV somewhere years ago (so I'm probably messing this up):

Actually, the new one is quite good, no matter how modest you may try to be about it. I like the shiny metal bits on his buckles and cuffs particularly, and the flames are nothing to sneer at either. Congrats on the development of your skills!
