Description
Concept for the Captain's quarters. Located on the second floor at the far back end of the Empress, William and Ember's room is arguably the largest of the crew's rooms. The rest of the rooms are about half the size and are located on the ship's sides.
While Will's room may seem big at first, compared to other long-distance hopper ships, the space in the Empress is actually quite small. This is in order to conserve power, enforce its structural integrity and armor, and to be as sleekly built as possible to easily slip through wormholes with minimal friction.
While it is no mansion, the crew makes do with the space they've got to make it as comfortable as possible for the members; for example Ember's aquarium housing fish from her homeplanet that helps make things less lonely and gives a sense of feeling more at home.
