Trying something new~

I've never actually done a genuine attempt to paint something without using sketchlines. But god damn was it fun!
I was very inspired by a speedpaint video made my mary_dimary on Instagram of how she paints faces. I watched it and had to paint along with it and using her techniques. Obviously the result looks similar to hers, but it has it's own personal twist to it where you can still see my own artstyle kinda shine through, and I also used my own technique with painting the hair. Her speedpaint also taught me some very useful techniques that I'll definitely be using in the future, such as painting in Grayscale and using the Symmetry tool!
At first it was just a random woman, but the more I worked on it the more it morphed into Marceline, so I just rolled with it. Painting your OC in a more realistic style actually really helps you with how their facial features look, and how you can implement them into a more stylized, simplistic way for your regular artstyle.
I'll probably be making a matching version with her twin brother, Mordecai. Just because 1: I wanna try making a male version, 2: I wanna see how I can make them look more like actual twins, and 3: heck yea matching icons.
