(I WAS REALLY HAPPY WITH THIS)So this is a reference sheet I'll use for some minor characters that'll appear in Beyond our Borders. I'll be just using this as a ref for myself mostly, incase I forget their names or how they look like.
These are characters that'll appear in the introduction of the series, so they won't be around for so long. They're gonna appear later on however, but WHO CARES ABOUT THAT AMIRITE???
Might be worth noting that they're all a part of Featherfall's family and/or tribe. It might be good to explain stuff for ya while I'm at it... Just incase! I'll try to keep it short xD
Let's just start off with the characters here:
Carico - The grumpy ol' chief that nags about pretty much anything. Everypony knows he's the chief and all, but it's hard to take him serious sometimes. He's too adorable. Be careful though... he bites.
Kobalt - The grandson of Carico and the future to-become-chief. His cutiemark decided it was him. Though, he's INCREDIBLY rude and has quite the attitude, which makes it very hard to like him... at all.
Teal - the Big brother of Kobalt and for almost everyone (mentally. xD) Basically the opposite of his brother. Incredibly sweet, helpful, and is willing to do anything for anyone. He's likeable, end of story! Ponies think it should be him that should become chief instead of his tiny lil' brother, but his mark decided otherwise. Instead he's jumping between paths, not sure of which he is in. Some say he can be classed as a Pilgrim... (read below about what that is)
Liliac - The little sister of Featherfall. Tiny, adorable, energetic and curious all bundled together into one! Have not yet received her cutiemark.
Magnolia - The grandma of Featherfall and Liliac, and the tribe's medicine mare. (see what I did there??) Strangely energetic for being so old... What does she use?
First the males:
- Males in the tribe use nicknames to call eachother out on instead of their real names. Why? Incase they get caught by something/somepony they say their nicknames instead of their real names, to keep their identity hidden. Also, the "codenames" are easier to use and it's MUCH easier to keep track of who is who! Since their real names are long and can be a bit of a mouthfull when shouting it out.
- The males' nicknames are based on minerals. Plus, their gem have the colour of their feathers. For example: A Teal gemstone = Light blue = Light blue feathers. See the system here?? The feathers are the same colour as their nickname says. You get the idea!
- Males' cutiemarks are based on cavepaintings and/or a type of "rune".
- Any cutiemark that has any type of arrow-mark (a straight line with an arrowhead at one end and a "flame" at the other end) are destined to become chief. LOOK AT THEIR CUTIEMARKZ FO' REF BOI
And females!:
- Females do not use nicknames due to them mostly staying inside of the tribes' borders. However, the females that do join the scouters/hunters when going out for food, do sometimes receive nicknames incase something happens.
- The females use the same system for their names as the males do. Though, their names are based on flowers instead of minerals. Due to flowers being soft, and minerals being hard. Just as for the males, they also have the same coloured feathers as their flower-type. So, same-same but different!
- Females cannot become chief, though if they're part of the "chief-family-tree-thing" they can be classed as high-ranked aswell as they grow older. Which means they'll receive just as much respect as for males.
Sidenote-stuff:
- Yes this tribe relies alot on their cutiemarks. It's what they believe will choose the right path for them to take, instead of being lost and confused of what they are or will be. Paths are what they will be doing in the future. Such as miners, hunters, builders, scouters, farmers, leaders, and so on. Ponies that have yet not chosen a path/refuses to do so without a good reason for it are called Pilgrims.
- NOPONY is allowed to leave the tribe's borders without permission to do so.
- There are many other tribes spread across the land, 6 in total. Each tribe has a different theme and part of the land, and no tribe is allowed to cross the other's borders without permission as stated.
- AAAAND Featherfalls nickname in the tribe is Jasper.
. . . Okay I'm sorry I said I'd TRY to keep it short but I got carried away again, I'M SORRY!!! It's just so fun to add details that will barely acctually matter at all in the future! xDD
But in all seriousness, this is not something I do for watchers, favourites, or fishing for attention. I'm only doing this for fun and for shits n' giggles, because I like the idea that I got going here. I'm really only sharing this to Deviantart because it's always fun to see someone stop by to read it, and I want to know what you guys think! (Also because I need to remember all of this. Heheh...)
Again, if it's not your thing then you don't have to take the time to read any of this. I'm really only curious about what people that like this stuff will enjoy this idea as much as I do. :3
Of course, support is ALWAYS welcomed to me with open arms! Seeing people liking stuff that I only do as a hobby is just incredible, and it just makes me so darn happy. I love you.
