Description
An illustration I did for class, intending to send it off to the ComicCon booklet in celebration of Dark Horse's 25th anniversary. Only right before sending it did I realize that Godzilla titles are currently being published with IDW, no Dark Horse as they have been for many years. Blue/pencil line for the form (google image search+a toy of Space Godzilla), then brush inking the thicker parts on the most forward seciton of body, then tech pens from there "back" (in the implied depth of the piece).
Then the rest was photoshop, screen layer masked to the line-art and colored blue to make the crystal outlines blue. Outlines layer itself set to multiply (up where it normally describes the layer as 'normal') so I could color under it. Round gradient for the atmosphere, and a stars brush (google "photoshop brushes stars")at low opacity so they wouldn't be overwhelming.

I haven't had the time to use photoshop to fix certain pieces.
Yet again I'm sure thats just me being lazy.

Eh, i wouldn't consider it that embarrassing i mean this is a VERY awesome piece you did. you drew him very very awesomely. i also like the entering the atmosphere burning effect you used too. i can see the people in the space shuttle saying: Houston, we have a problem. though if you you look at it, it looks like the shuttle and Space Godzilla are having a race to see who can reach the ground first. obviously Space Godzilla is cheating by using his tail on the shuttle, but thats how he is. really awesome job
